Join us as we follow Teddy, Poppy, Auggie, Maggie, and Gidget as they sniff, stroll, splash, and snack their way through some of the most beloved spots Decatur, Alabama.

Along the way, you’ll see that Decatur isn’t just dog-friendly, it’s dog-spoiled! Dog-friendly dining in downtown, scenic trails, pet-approved markets, and a welcoming vibe at every turn, our city rolls out the red carpet for canines and their humans alike.

Meet the Pack!

Poppy

A two-and-a-half-year-old full of energy. Loves keeping her humans on their toes!

Teddy

Big brother to Poppy. Both were shelter dogs, now adopted and upgraded. Teddy is 3 years old and loves playing ball and swimming in his backyard.

Auggie

A 10-month-old Decatur Animal Services resident. Lovable explorer still waiting for his forever home.

Maggie

Looks tough, but just wants a good belly rub! Maggie is seven-years-old and loves her job as a professional greeter at The Cupboard – Decatur’s dreamy home and garden store.

Gidget

She may be 11-years-old, but she’s not slowing down. She is an ambassador of big dog energy and, along with her “little” sister Maggie, works at The Cupboard with her humans.

Point Mallard Trails

Miles and miles of beautiful scenery for hiking, mountain biking, running, and of course, dog-walking. Take a break for a picnic at Point Mallard Park!

Tess’s Place

Pup cups and dog treat dispensers for the win! Humans might enjoy all the ice cream flavors at this local favorite as well.

Our city has the most beautiful art! The alleyway is Maggie and Gidget’s favorite place to go on break. The Sonny Side mural is a great spot for a photo op for all species!
