Breast cancer is not an easy journey for anyone to face, but at Decatur Morgan Hospital, you are never alone. As the new Patient Navigator for the Breast Health Center, I have the privilege of walking beside women and their families from the moment of diagnosis through treatment and recovery. My role is to provide guidance, education, and encouragement at each step of the way, helping patients feel supported and cared for during one of the most difficult times in their lives.

At Decatur Morgan, we are proud to have a Breast Health Center that combines skilled physicians, compassionate care, and advanced technology. Our team includes board-certified radiologists, general surgeons, plastic surgeons, pathologists, gynecologists, oncologists, and primary care physicians who all work together to develop personalized care for each patient. Alongside our highly trained nurses and dedicated technicians, this team is committed to offering care that is not only innovative but also delivered with empathy, confidentiality, and compassion.

One of the most exciting advancements in our Breast Health Center is the addition of the Affirm Upright Breast Biopsy Guidance System. This new technology allows patients to receive both a 3D mammogram and a biopsy at the same time, all while in a comfortable upright position. This innovation is already making a difference in how quickly and accurately breast cancers can be diagnosed right here in Decatur and Morgan County.

Each October, the Decatur Morgan Hospital Foundation celebrates the Power of Pink by honoring current warriors, survivors, and all of those who have bravely fought cancer. Through the luncheon and fashion show, t-shirt sales, and other efforts during the month, the Foundation raises funds that go directly to the Lee Lott Breast Health Fund, named in honor of Decatur Morgan Hospital patient and breast cancer survivor Lee Lott. This year’s Power of Pink Luncheon and Fashion Show will be held on October 14, 2025, at Ingalls Pavilion. It is always a day filled with hope, fashion, and community, and tickets are on sale now with limited seating available.

Breast cancer is not something anyone ever wants to face, but if you or someone you love receives this diagnosis, please know that Decatur Morgan Hospital is here to care for you. From the very first screening to long-term recovery, our team will walk with you every step of the way.
