Each year, many residents and visitors from the Southeast highly anticipate the one-of-a-kind experience that Le Dîner en Blanc Decatur provides. What originated in Paris, France, as a picnic with a handful of friends has grown into a worldwide celebration of friends, food, and place.
is an elegant large-scale “pop-up” picnic in a secret location, revealed at the very last minute. Dressed in white from head to toe, guests arrive at the pickup location with supplies in hand ready to celebrate.
“That’s all the fun,” said attendee Paige Drouillard. “It’s a surprise! I look forward to this yearly event because it feels like an absolute dream.”
When the night is over, everyone packs up their picnic and heads home, leaving no trace they were ever there. The idea is to come in, have a grand time, and leave the area the way they found it: beautiful and untouched.
