Built for the Birds, Wheeler National Wildlife Positively Dazzles All Year Long

Each winter, anywhere from 10,000 to 25,000 temporary residents show up to bring an experience that’s positively Decatur. The guests? Migrating sandhill cranes and even several pairs of extremely rare whooping cranes.

Point Mallard Is Positively recreational!

Point Mallard has long been the spot for Decatur and the surrounding areas to congregate, play, and work in the warmer (and sometimes blazing hot) months of the year.

Get Positively Adventurous Floating on the Flint

The Flint Creek Canoe Trail opened in 2018, and with its opening, kayakers and canoers have access to the interior of Wheeler Wildlife Refuge and all the amazing scenery and beautiful wildlife on the Refuge.
