Now, even MORE rockets will be built in Decatur! United Launch Alliance in Decatur has announced an expansion! This 500,000-square-foot expansion will bring an estimated 250 jobs to the area to support Amazon’s global broadband deployment mission. They expect to conduct their first launch for Amazon in 2024.

“[ULA is] going to make a $317 million investment in their facility here in Decatur to build additional Vulcan rockets. The reason for this is that they received a large Amazon contract for 38 Vulcan rockets, and in order to meet that demand, they are going to have to expand their facilities and also add to their workforce,” says Jeremy Nails, President and CEO of Morgan County Economic Development Association.
